Seitan Chicken

I love experimenting with Seitan but I don’t make it often enough to remember what I did the previous time. Therefore this is a note to myself.

This recipe is from FitGreenMind. Who is amazing- few tweaks to our preference.

Seitan Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Chickpeas Homemade- or boiled a for 10 extra minutes to make them soft.
  • ½ Cup Water
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Poultry Powder
  • Cup Chickpea Flour
  • 1 Cup Wheat Gluten

Instructions
 

  • Add to a food processor and mix for a few minutes until it comes together like dough.
  • Remove and work until it rolls into a long log.
  • Twist and tie in a knot
  • Add to boiling water- with whatever spices (broth, marmite, poultry seasoning, garlic etc.)
  • Simmer for 45 minutes.
  • Shred once cooled
